Professor Ibrahim Bello-Kano (BA. MA, PhD) (1963- ) is Professor of English Studies at Bayero University. He served as Head of Department and member of the Governing between 2000 and 2004.

He is a Visiting Professor at Northwest University and Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He was a visiting scholar at the University of Delaware in 1997-8, and is a member of the Editorial Board of the African Humanities Publications Series, in conjunction with the University of South Africa Press.

He has published on various topics in literary theory, aesthetics, the novel, life and travel writing, and recently, poetry.
He is currently working on subjects involving Fredric Nietzsche, Matthew Arnold, and Jacques Derrida. His new book, Travel, Narration, and the Fiction of Exploration, is forthcoming from Ahmadu Bello University Press.
