Time to Dialogue

As with all good book festivals, panel discussions are a fantastic opportunity to air our views about the things that mean a lot to us. It’s also a great space to learn what means a lot to others.

At Kabafest, we have some wonderful speakers who will tackle pertinent issues around life in Nigeria, but most especially Northern Nigeria. Kadaria Ahmed, the host of The Core, will be hosting a conversation about how best to harness the potential of women in Northern Nigeria. Carmen McCain will be hosting ‘Our Lives, Our Stories’ which will explore the different ways in which Northern Nigerian women are making sure their voices are heard. Publisher and lawyer Richard Ali will moderate a session which will examine some of the challenges faced by the publishing industry in Northern Nigeria. There will also be a session in Hausa language to discuss the future of modern literature in Hausa.

The panel discussions typically last for 80 minutes, with at least twenty minutes devoted to audience participation.
