Furera Isma Jumare holds a B.Sc. in Botany, M.Sc. in Crop Physiology and M.Sc. in Rural Development from Ahmadu Bello University, and M.A. in International Development Management from the University of Manchester funded by the Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Programme.

She has thirty years’ experience in the fields of agriculture and development – at the CBN, as an independent consultant with ENABLE2 (DFID), working with agencies such as Kano State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development and Jigawa State Investment Promotion Agency.

She served as a member of the Kaduna State Council of Agriculture (2004-2007)

Furera is the founder and CEO of MicroDevelopment Consulting Limited, leading its research, project management and capacity development activities.

She is a member of Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered), member Institute of Directors, fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC) and an Independent Director on the board of Union Bank of Nigeria Plc.
